Alone in His Presence is the debut solo album by Christian gospel singer CeCe Winans, released on September 28, 1995 on Sparrow Records. The majority of the album is produced by brothers Cedric and Victor Caldwell, along with Greg Nelson and CeCe's brother BeBe Winans producing one track each.
Alone in His Presence is a mix of some contemporary and traditional gospel songs with hymns and covers. CeCe covers the Steven Curtis Chapman track "His Strength is Perfect." A music video was made for the song "Every Time," but is more of an R&B video remix than the regular studio version. This version is not available retail-wise as a single, just made for the video. CeCe's mother Delores (Mom Winans) duets on the hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness." The album climbed to number 2 on both Billboard Top Gospel Albums and Top Christian Albums and peaked at number 124 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
In 1996, CeCe won her fourth Grammy Award overall (her third as a solo act) for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album at the 38th Grammy Awards and has won two Dove Awards for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year, along with Mom Winans, with "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and Female Vocalist of the Year at the 27th GMA Dove Awards. CeCe is the first African-American singer to win in the Female Vocalist category and won it the following year. Alone in His Presence was certified Gold in 1997 and Platinum in 2001 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of a million copies.
