An American Songbook is the 15th studio album by Christian singer Sandi Patty. Released on the Tandem Productions label in 1996, this is a rare album that Patty has sung other than Christian music. It is an album of covers featuring American Songbook classics, Broadway, big band songs and Walt Disney medleys showing a side of Patty her love of musical styles and Broadway songs performing with a symphony pop orchestra.
When not doing Christian music albums or concerts, Patty would embark in concerts with local symphony pop orchestras and singing Broadway songs and from the American Songbook singing pop standards. An American Songbook was not meant to be released commercially but due to popular demand, the album was re-released in 1999.
NOTE: A new recording of the Morning Like This song "Love in Any Language" was recorded for this album, but was unreleased and is now included as a bonus track.
