Anointed is the self-titled fourth studio album by the Christian R&B/gospel group Anointed, released on April 20, 1999 on Myrrh/Word Records. Anointed has worked with various producers on this album including Christopher Harris, Mark Heimermann, Keith Crouch, Tony Rich and Wayne Tester.
Anointed was a return to their urban sound with which they began and their vocals are backed with more contemporary electronic sounds. The disco-fueled first single "Revive Us" begins and ends the album with two versions: the album version and the Urban Remix version. The song was a hit in Christian radio and topped the Christian AC chart.
The album peaked at number 7 on the Top Christian Albums, number 3 on the Top Gospel Albums and number 7 on the Heatseekers Albums charts in Billboard magazine. In 2000, Anointed won two Dove Awards for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year and Urban Recorded Song of the Year for the track "Anything is Possible" and earned their third and final Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. That same year, Denise "Nee-C" Walls announced her departure from Anointed after being with the group in 1988.
