By My Spirit: A Musical Gathering of Praise is a various artists compilation album that was released in 1984 on Myrrh/Word Records. The album contains eight previously released album cuts by its Word recording artists like Leon Patillo, Joni Eareckson Tada, Benny Hester and Teri DeSario among others. Leslie Phillips provides a "new" track on this collection with "By My Spirit." The Phillips-written song is based on Zechariah 4:6. It is the original solo recording and was released to Christian radio as a single as well as a music video. Phillips later recorded a new version as a duet featuring Matthew Ward of 2nd Chapter of Acts for her second album Dancing with Danger (1984). The track is produced by Gary Whitlock.
