By My Spirit: A Musical Gathering of Praise is a various artists compilation album that was released in 1984 on Myrrh/Word Records. The album contains eight previously released album cuts by its Word recording artists like Benny Hester, Leon Patillo, Morris Chapman and Teri DeSario among others. Leslie Phillips provides a new track on this collection with "By My Spirit." The Phillips-written song is based on Zechariah 4:6. It is the original solo recording and was released to Christian radio as a single as well as a music video. Phillips later recorded a new version as a duet featuring Matthew Ward of 2nd Chapter of Acts for her second album Dancing with Danger (1984). The track is produced by Gary Whitlock.
