Christmas (Navidad in Spanish) is a Christmas album by Christian/Latina pop singer Jaci Velasquez. The English recording (Jaci's sixth overall) was released on September 18, 2001 by Word Records and the Spanish recording (Jaci's third) was released on November 6, 2001 by Sony Discos/Sony Music International. Both albums were produced by Christopher Harris.
The albums consist of three original songs sung in both languages: "The Angel Song"/"La Cancion Del Angel" written by Chris Eaton, "It Wouldn't Be Christmas"/"Si tu no Estuvieras Conmigo En Navidad" written by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Krippayne and "Season of Love"/"Tiempo de Amar" features former Petra musician and vocalist Pete Orta singing duet vocals. The rest of the album features familiar Christmas songs including a cover of José Feliciano's signature classic "Feliz Navidad." Unfortunately the final track "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" featuring Alvin and the Chipmunks is not on the digital release due to rights issues and publishing clearance.
Christmas peaked at number 102 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums, number 6 on the Top Christian Albums and number 5 on the Top Holiday Albums charts. Navidad peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums and number 23 on the Top Latin Albums charts. Navidad was named Spanish Language Album of the Year at the 34th GMA Dove Awards.
