Decisions (1987)

Decisions is the fifth studio album by the Christian gospel vocal group The Winans. It was released on September 1, 1987 by Qwest/Warner Bros. Records.

The brothers produced the album with Barry Hankerson with music producer Quincy Jones serving as executive producer.

Decisions continue the success of their previous Grammy-winning album Let My People Go with their combo of contemporary gospel and R&B. It features guest singers that were both released as singles: "Ain't No Need to Worry" with American R&B singer Anita Baker and "Love Has No Color" with singer - songwriter

Michael McDonald. The Winans originally recorded a cover of Elton John's 1974 hit

"Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" (#2 Billboard Hot 100, #3 Billboard AC) with

an arrangement by Ronald Winans. It was replaced by the Christmas track "The Real Meaning of Christmas," which was originally released as a non-album single in 1986, in later pressings.

Decisions gave The Winans their second number one album on the Top Gospel Albums, plus it appeared on the following Billboard album charts:

#12 Top Christian Albums

#30 Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums

#109 Billboard 200 Albums

The Winans won Grammy, Dove and Soul Train Music Awards for their album. See the accolades section below this article.
