Field of Souls is the tenth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Wayne Watson. Released in the fall of 1995, it was Watson's one and only album on Warner Bros'. gospel/Christian label Warner Alliance Records.
Field of Souls was preceded by the lead single "The Class of '95," which Watson wrote to his eldest son's high school graduation and packaged as a CD single for sale with a congratulations greeting card. Watson re-recorded the song again four years later as "The Class of '99" and was sold as a CD single. The title song was released as the second single and music video and is an anthemic track that calls on believers to become evangelists, reaping the harvest for the kingdom. "Field of Souls" was nominated for a Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary
Recorded Song of the Year.
Watson wrote all ten songs on the album, with producer - musician Michael Omartian co-writing "Don't You Remember?" In Addition to Omartian, Watson and musician David Pack produced Field of Souls. The album debuted and peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums charts.
Since the folding of Warner Alliance, Field of Souls has since been reverted to and distributed by Word Records.
