For God and God Alone (1986)

Updated: Jun 20

For God and God Alone is the third studio album by Christian singer Steve Green, released on August 21, 1986 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Greg Nelson.

With themes of family and faith, For God and God Alone was another successful album for Green and it was Green's only RIAA Gold-certified album. By 2001, the album sold half a million copies. Highlights include the title song "God and God Alone" originally written and recorded by Phill McHugh, "Household of Faith," sung with Green's wife Marijean Green and the Easter-focused track "Calvary's Love." Eight of the album's ten tracks were orchestrated and arranged by Alan Moore and David T. Clydesdale.

Green also released a concert video in 1987 titled For God and God Alone: In Concert Ministry Video featuring 12 live performances, interview footage with Green and his family and the music video for "Enter In." The album peaked at number 3 by early 1987 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. That same year, Green won his second Male Vocalist of the Year title at the 18th GMA Dove Awards and was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance,

Male for the album.
