Foundations (1989)

Writer's picture: Joel CaballeroJoel Caballero

Foundations is the fifth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Geoff Moore. It is the second and final album released on Sparrow Records in 1989. This is the second album to feature his touring band The Distance and is produced by Billy Smiley. Moore's friend and singer - songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman guests on the track "The Part of You" providing backing vocals and acoustic guitar, as well as acoustic guitar on "Mercy for the Memories." Foundations has more of a heartland rock sound in the vein of John Mellencamp, Bob Segar and Neil Young, than the arena rock sound of Moore's previous albums. Moore covers the song "I Found Love" by the American country rock band Lone Justice, co-written by the band's lead singer Maria McKee.
