How You Live (2007)

Updated: Aug 3

How You Live is the ninth studio album by the Christian female vocal group Point of Grace, released on August 28, 2007 by Word/Curb/Warner Bros. Records. The album is produced by Brown Bannister.

How You Live achieved critical and commercial success due to the album's third single and music video "How You Live (Turn Up the Music)." The song was released to both Christian and mainstream country markets, where it performed moderately well peaking at number 52 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

This is also the group's final album as a quartet as founding member Heather Payne announced her retirement in June 2008 from the group after giving birth to her fourth child in late 2007. Due to Payne's departure and the group's increasing popularity within the country music market, Warner Music Group commissioned a re-release of the album, labeled "Deluxe Edition" in October 2008. This edition added two new songs and an acoustic version of the title track.

How You Live peaked at number 4 on the Top Christian Albums and number 56 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts. In 2008, Point of Grace won the Dove Award for Country Recorded Song of the Year for "How You Live (Turn Up the Music)" while its co-writer, fellow CCM singer - songwriter Cindy Morgan won Songwriter of the Year at the 39th GMA Dove Awards. At the performance of the song on the live telecast, the girls were accompanied by Morgan on the piano, and their own Denise Jones on guitar. Payne originally sang the lead on the song but since her departure, Leigh Cappallino took over the lead vocals on the new recording and in live concerts. A music video for "I Wish," from the Deluxe Edition, was filmed featuring Point of Grace as a trio of Shelly Breen, Jones and Cappallino.
