Joy to the World! (1987)

Joy to the World! is the fourth studio and first Christmas album by Christian singer Steve Green, released on October 15, 1987 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Greg Nelson. The album features some traditional Christmas songs, plus an original track "Jesus is Born." The album cover features Green and some musicians from the Salvation Army and on the back cover features Green, his wife Marijean and their two children, Summer and Josiah.


Joy to the World! peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart by January 1988. In 1988, Green earned his third Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance, Male and earned three Dove Award nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Inspirational Album of the Year for this release.
