Mansion Builder (1978)

Updated: Feb 19

Mansion Builder is the third studio album by the Christian vocal trio 2nd Chapter of Acts. It was released on March 28, 1978 by Sparrow Records. The album is produced by Buck Herring.

It is the sibling trio's first new album in three years and their first on the Sparrow label. They made their first radio chart appearance on CCM Magazine with the title song as the lead single and peaking at number two. The trio's touring band "a band called David," who have played on two of the trio's live albums To the Bride and How the West Was One, play on Mansion Builder, as well as additional musicians like Michael Omartian on piano and synthesizers, Jay Graydon on guitar and Abraham Laboriel on bass guitar among others.

In 1980, the album debuted on Billboard magazine's Top Inspirational Albums chart (later renamed Top Christian Albums), peaking at number 19. Sparrow Records re-issued the album on CD in 1991.
