People Need the Lord is an official compilation album by Christian singer Steve Green, released in the fall of 1994 by Sparrow Records. This collection contains 16 favorite songs which, at the time, Green was celebrating his ten year music
ministry including the title song, "Household of Faith" (featuring Green's wife
Marijean Green), "The Mission," "Only Jesus/Calvary's Love," "He Holds the Keys" and others. Also included are two new hymns recordings: "A Mighty Fortress" and the Cross Medley of "Hallelujah! What a Savior," "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" and "And Can It Be," plus two contributing tracks from other projects:
"I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" from The New Young Messiah and "Grace By Which I Stand" from the Keith Green tribute album No Compromise: Remembering the Music of Keith Green. There are no songs represented from his recent album at the time, Where Mercy Begins or his 1992 hymns album Hymns: A Portrait of Christ. People Need the Lord climbed up to number 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart by early 1995.
