Promise Keepers - A Life That Shows is a various artists compilation album released in 1994 by Sparrow Records. It features 14 songs of encouragement for men of integrity including the two new tracks "Teach Me to Love" by Steve Green and Larnelle Harris and "Bearers of the Light" by Michael Card, plus previously released tracks. These songs were part of an event for Christian men called Promise Keepers, which is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to uniting men through vital relationships to becoming godly influences in their world.
Promise Keepers events were held at arenas and stadiums with guest speakers, musicians and authors, teaching men how to be better husbands and fathers, honoring Jesus Christ through worship, prayer and obedience to God's word and to reach beyond any racial and denominational barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity.
Promise Keepers peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. The track and music video for "Teach Me to Love" was nominated for a Dove Award for Song of the Year in 1995. It later appeared on Green's 1996 album The Letter and on Harris' 1998 2-CD compilation album Collector's Series, Vol. 2.
