Read All About It (1988)

Updated: Apr 13

Read All About It is the second release and first national debut album by the Australian Christian rock band Newsboys. It was released in 1988 on Refuge Records and distributed by Spectra Distribution. The album was produced by Tommy Sims, who, at the time, was the bass guitar player in the American Christian rock band White Heart. It was the first Newsboys album to be recorded in America, as they moved to Nashville, Tennessee from their native Australia.

Read All About It features four songs re-recorded from their 1987 Australian independent release [He's Coming Back] with six original tracks including "You're Still There" written solely by lead singer John James. Original member George Perdikis was replaced on this album by Phil Yates, but has contributed songs on the album. The album garnered a little airplay with "I Got Your Number" making the Top 20 on the Christian Rock chart. The song was also their very first music video. Read All About It is the only album Newsboys released on the Refuge label as they left for Star Song Records for their next album Hell Is For Wimps. Star Song re-issued this album in 1991.
