Signal (1983)

Updated: Oct 19

Signal is the 18th release and 6th album by Dallas Holm & Praise, released on August 19, 1983 by Greentree/Benson Records. The album was produced by Phil Johnson.

It is the first album to feature new Praise member Rick Crawford playing on bass guitar, taking over for outgoing bass player and vocalist Randy Adams and appears on the back album jacket with Holm and Praise members Tim Johnson and Ric Norris. Crawford co-wrote the track "Only One Lord" and also provided backing vocals throughout the album. The country-pop fueled lead single "Losing Game" was a Top 5 hit on the Christian radio charts. Signal peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. This was also their final release on the Greentree label. Benson was Holm's label for over a decade. He would return to the Benson label in 1992. In 1990, Signal, along with I Saw the Lord were reissued as a double disc CD, but omitted the tracks "Touch Me With Love" and the reprise of "Hittin' the Road," due to time constraints. It has since been out of print and is not digitally available. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
