Somethin' Takes Over is the third studio album by the Christian music group First Call, released in the fall of 1987 on DaySpring Records. It is the trio's second non-holiday album following up their 1986 release Undivided, featuring the same formula of contemporary pop with vocal jazz and big band with production by Neal Joseph and David Maddux. Some of the songs also draw some comparisons to fellow Christian vocal trio 2nd Chapter of Acts like "Lord of All" and "The Reason We Sing" with their harmonies and the highlight is the track "O Sifuni Mungu," which is the hymn "All Creatures of Our God and King" sung in Swahili with its African ambient sound. The album peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and in 1989, was nominated for a Dove Award for Group of the Year.
