Steady On is the fourth studio album by the female Christian vocal group Point of Grace, released on August 4, 1998 by Word Records. The album is produced by Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, White Heart, Twila Paris).
This was the group's first time working with Bannister at the production helm and once again Point of Grace pulled in some of Christian music's top songwriters including Michael W. Smith, Jeff and Gayla Borders, Lowell Alexander, Reggie Hamm and even David Zaffiro, who was once a guitarist of the Christian hard rock band Bloodgood, co-wrote the track "Amazing" with Kevin Stokes. Steady On brought in a maturity in sound within the group while still retaining their tight harmonies and vocal leads. The album produced six number one songs: the title song, "Saving Grace," "The Wonder Of It All," "My God" and "The Song Is Alive" all went to number one on The CCM Update's Christian AC chart and the track "When the Wind Blows" went to number one on CCM Update's Christian Inspirational chart. A music video was made for "Steady On."
Prior to the album's release, "Steady On" was released as an enhanced CD single to Christian bookstores. The release include a pop remix and a dance remix version of "Steady On," as well as enhanced content on the CD, such as brief bios of the group members, excerpts from a new devotional book also titled Steady On, a photo gallery, and other anecdotes. Steady On topped the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. In 1999, Point of Grace won Group of the Year and the "Steady On" CD single was named Enhanced CD of the Year at the 30th GMA Dove Awards and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. Point of Grace earned their second consecutive Platinum album with Steady On by the Recording Industry Association of American (RIAA) in 2002.
