Strong Medicine is the fourth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Bryan Duncan. It was released in 1989 on Word Records' Modern Art label. The album is produced by Larry Brown and Chuck Barth.
Three of the members of the R&B a cappella vocal sextet Take 6 provide backing vocals on the title song and "Inside Out." Duncan and producer Chuck Barth wrote seven out of the nine songs on the album, along with some co-writers and Duncan writing solo on two others. The album is more adult contemporary in some of the songs, but still has some of the blue-eyed soul pop and there's even a hip hop rap song "Don't Ya Wanna Rap." Music videos were made for "Don't Ya Wanna Rap" and further single "Stand in My Place." Strong Medicine peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.
NOTE: after the release of Strong Medicine, all future Bryan Duncan releases will be on Myrrh Records.
