Sunday's On the Way (1983)

Updated: May 3

Sunday's On the Way is the first live album by Christian singer - songwriter Carman. It was originally released on July 1, 1983 by Priority Records/CBS/Sony Music. The album was recorded live and was produced by Turley Richards.

The album's highlights are the tracks "God Don't Care (What the Circumstance)" and the title song. "Sunday's On the Way" was re-recorded on the live album Shakin' the House (1991). It would be the beginning of what Carman calls his "story songs," which were a big draw in his concerts during his ministry and career.

Nearly a year after its release, Sunday's On the Way entered the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart at number 26 in early March 1984 and peaked at number 13 a few months later. In 1992, Word Records reissued the album on CD but has since been out of print and is not available digitally. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
