Supernatural is the fifth and final studio album by the Christian vocal trio DC Talk, released on September 22, 1998 on ForeFront Records and Virgin Records.
Upon release, the album overtook Jesus Freak to set a new record for the highest first week sales for a Christian release. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, a feat for a Christian rock album, with first week sales of over 106,000 copies and in addition topping the Top Christian Albums chart. Their name is once again stylized as dc Talk for this album. Supernatural abandoned the hip hop/rap style found on the group's earlier releases to settle for the pop/rock sound from Jesus Freak. The group has stated that this album was different; it was a collaborative effort of all three members. The album is produced by Toby McKeehan and Mark Heimermann. Music videos were made for "My Friend (So Long)" and "Consume Me."
The singles for the album received their fair share of radio play on modern rock, contemporary Christian and alternative outlets. The group then embarked on a 60-city tour across the United States titled, The Supernatural Experience. Footage from the tour was combined with interviews and music videos and was released as The Supernatural Experience video on VHS and DVD and was certified Gold for long form video and won them a Dove Award for Long Form Music Video of the Year. Their song "Dive" won DC Talk their final Dove Award as a collective for Modern/Alternative Rock Song of the Year. Supernatural was Platinum certified in 2003. A remastered edition was released in 2013 and later released on vinyl in 2015.
