Through the Flame is the 23rd release and 20th studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Dallas Holm, released on July 24, 1990 by DaySpring/Word Records. The album was produced by Phil Johnson. This is Johnson's first album since producing the 1983 Dallas Holm & Praise release Signal. Holm and Johnson, along with singer - songwriter Tim Sheppard, reunited to release to second Holm,
Sheppard, Johnson album Soldiers Again in 1989.
Through the Flame is Holm's most personal album he's ever released. The album is more upbeat and even bluesy at times The lead single, "Be My Shelter," gave Holm his final Top 10 song on the Christian CHR chart. From this point on, Holm's music will continue to chart on the Christian AC chart. The hymn "The Love of God" and the title song are also considered favorites. Through the Flame peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.
After being on the Word label for more than five years, Holm leaves the Word label after the release of Through the Storm and prepares for his return to the Benson Records label for his next release. Through the Storm is currently out of print and is not available digitally. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
