Thy Kingdom Come is the eighth studio album by Christian gospel singer CeCe Winans, released on April 1, 2008 by PureSpring Gospel and EMI Gospel. The album is produced by Tommy Sims, brothers Cedric and Victor Caldwell, Christopher Capeheart, Percy Bady and Luther "Mano" Hanes.
CeCe's first album in nearly three years is a return to her gospel roots and serves as a sequel to her 2003 album Throne Room, with the emphasis on songs of worship, inspiration, encouragement and praise with some urban touches on some of the songs. CeCe originally intended to release a collection of hymns entitled Hymns At Heart which was set for release in November 2007, however, the release date was postponed indefinitely. On January 22, 2008, Winans posted on her blog that she would be releasing an album on April 1, 2008. News outlets began reporting in February that the studio album would be called Thy Kingdom Come and featured the song "Waging War."
The song climbed to number 12 on both the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs and Gospel Airplay charts. CeCe's son Alvin Love III wrote and co-produced the track "The Coast is Clear." Thy Kingdom Come has charted on the following Billboard album charts:
#1 Top Gospel Albums
#2 Top Christian Albums
#12 Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums
#57 Billboard Top 200
In 2009, CeCe won a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for Thy Kingdom Come at the 51st Grammy Awards and also won a Stellar Award for Contemporary Female of the Year at the 24th Annual Stellar Awards. CeCe was nominated for a Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year.
After the release of Thy Kingdom Come, CeCe reunited with her brother BeBe Winans for their long-awaited seventh album Still in 2009.
